Relay service

A Relay service is a station or transmitter which broadcasts other stations, either off-air or (more commonly) by broadcasting Pre-recorded programmes.
Relay services are often used to allow a station without its own transmitter to broadcast - protecting the station's studio from raid and its operators and DJs from prosecution.
Relay services can also be used to increase the range of a station, eg by relaying an FM station on Short Wave, or on FM in a different area from that of the station's main Transmitter.
