Ocean Sound
From Freeradio
Ocean Sound used to broadcast from Swinton near Rotherham in South Yorkshire, in 1987 on a frequency of 106.3 (stereo). Despite being nowhere near the sea, Ocean Sound's professional on-air image was assisted by the use of the jingle package from the station's namesake in Southampton (an ILR).
The Format was mainly pop music and the DJ mostly heard was DJ Robert (identity withheld).
One night, in spring 1987, Ocean Sound was relayed by Sheffield pirate ZFM and in the summer of the same year, Ocean Sound rebroadcast ZFM as part of its marathon overnighter.
