NMR
From Freeradio
NMR stood for North Midlands Radio, which broadcast to north Derbyshire from 1987 to the mid 1990's (last heard in 1993).
Broadcasts mostly took place on Sunday evenings, plus occasional extra evening broadcasts on dates of interest to free radio anoraks (eg anniversaries of the Marine Offences Act)
Format was recent and old pop music and free radio info
Main DJ was Steve St John, but occasionally other DJs were heard. In addition, historical Airchecks from offshore pirates of the 1960s were sometimes broadcast. Occasionally, relays of pirate radio stations of the time (eg NLV Radio of Keighley, West Yorkshire) were aired.
Programmes are understood to have been mostly pre-recorded
Signal often reached Clowne.
Occasionally broadcast from the Peak District, with a strong signal easily reaching Clowne
