Kiss FM Birmingham
From Freeradio
Kiss FM used to broadcast to Birmingham from 1988 into mid-1989.
The frequency used was around 105 at first, but they moved to 102 in mid-1989.
Format was dance, soul, hip hop, house, acid, and rap music.
Broadcasts took place at weekends.
Kiss FM is understood to have broadcast from the Hockley area, near the centre of Birmingham.
DJs on Kiss FM included DJK and IMD.
It is understood that the operator of Kiss FM was called "squid".
Kiss often went off-air due to loss of their main transmitter, whether this was due to the DTI or thefts (possibly by other pirates) is unclear.
