Jingle

A jingle is a station ID, often sung over music but sometimes spoken.

Generally played before, after or in-between records or programme segments - but sometimes jingles have been recorded over the beginning of records (which are then played in their entirity).

Some spoken jingles can be played over an instrumental part of a record, especially to "spoil" an exclusive, to deter other stations from passing said record off as their oen.
